Solid colours in flexo printed packaging are not solid: The Hole Truth

Where do these holes come from?
Inks split evenly between the printing plate and substrate without enough time for a static meniscus to form in this dynamic splitting interface, generating these holes. Using thick printing plates does not fix this.

What's the solution?
Using thin printing plates reduce cost and processing time. Correct Conformability – achieved by a correctly chosen compressibility of mounting tape and surface treatment of a primer.
